Stuffing My Face

Today I'm talking about hunger, since I slowed down on my running I had forgotten about how ravenous I get when I run. It's silly really and I know it kind of makes sense but I go way overboard. I really thinking keeping my eating in check is one of the hardest parts about running for me. I ran on Saturday (SYTO 5K) and again on Sunday (sprints, yuck!) and by Sunday evening I felt like I could eat everything in our entire pantry.

I tried to keep it healthy at first, opting for a low-fat cheese stick, then an hour later I had a yogurt.

Yes, I lick the container because that is how good this yogurt is, it's banana with schoko crunchies (aka crispy rice covered in chocolate), by far this is my favorite thing about living in Germany.

After the yogurt I had a glass of milk...then some crackers...then a Kinder chocolate...then some left over homemade Mac and Cheese (Paula Deen's recipe, you can imagine how healthy it is)...then another Kinder chocolate. My point is, I cannot stop eating.

The thing is I feel like I have no self-control when I've run and it kills me because I know I had it at some point, you don't lose 75 pounds without some freaking' self-control. So, I want to know, do any of you have this problem and if you do what do you do to help minimize this effect? I'm already thinking that I might need to chug some water as soon as I get done, I know I don't drink enough right away but maybe you guys have some tricks that work better, let me know because lord knows my ass cannot keep up since there is no way I burn that many calories.

Do you read Healthystrides.blogspot.com written by Kimberly? She's pretty awesome with this. I wish I had success to talk about, but not yet. Hang in there.

I wish I had some advice for you. Turns out the only thing that really works for me is having healthy snacks in the house and keeping way too busy to eat!

I remember that STARVING feeling after running - usually it hit me hours after a long run. I tried to control it but it wasn't easy...I ate lots of apples and peanut butter, tons of water, and sometimes? Pancakes (multi-grain) for dinner. It was definitely a challenge, that's for sure - good luck!
